These sanctions are just a tool for the U.S Govt. They don't care about the consumers, or suppliers that this will effect, however big the consequence, as long as they can put a liiittle pressure on the Ruskies, they're happy to oblige. THANKS OBAMA, THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS
Izhmash rifle owners are probably all crying right now, but we're all proud owners of Vepr rifles here, and I'm sure most people can't fire two rifles at once.... it's enough to just own one of these beauties. I'll never need another one, (but I'd sure like to own a few more)
Once again Thank's Obama...... you fu*ker!

Please do not disrespect the office of the Presidency. We typically have a "no-politics" rule in effect here. THAT BEING SAID, keep it civil and directed toward policy, rather than individuals (no matter how horrific and awful those leaders happen to be).

Thanks (and I agree with your statement 100%) 8-)

Been following these topics closely over the past 2 days. I'm happy to be the owner of a V12 and when the initial sanctions in February/March?...then decided it was time to get a vepr7.62x39. Happy I did.
I have mulled over the ideas of spare parts for a while but it doesn't seem factor spare parts are well supported anyway in the US market.

With the importation issues now, what distributors sell these parts for now and which should we get that are not interchangeable with other ak type rifles/shotguns? I have seen a few other threads on replacement parts and interchangeable parts. Anyone with more knowledge have links to dealers for spare parts parts that are both interchangeable and not interchangeable (ie: bolts, extractors, firing pins, replacement stock set...)

What's more is that any parts to "Repair or maintain" the firearms are also blacklisted :(

My bad. I know it isn't right to slam Obama. He's our leader after all. Honestly, I've seen this coming for months, that's why I bought my Russian AK about a month ago before the SHTF. It's awfully upsetting though that such a great and reliable brand of weapon is now banned due to policy and a war that has not much at all to do with the U.S. *sigh* At the very least, we will still be able to get quality-ish weapons from Serbia and Bulgaria

I dont want to defend the individual in question, but we typically lock threads down that disrespect the office. However, given the circumstances, its hard to walk that line... :|

Off the subject off politics then, companies like Zastava and Arsenal inc should still be able to export weapons to the U.S because they have no financial relationship to Russia, but since they contain parts "used to build or repair Russian AK-47s", wouldn't they also be effected? And the American made Century Arms c39 rifle. I'm assuming that since it also obviously has ak parts, their production would be halted?
